Life Update Fall 2021

Since I started my new job at the end of July, I’ve actually been super busy and haven’t had time for much of anything else. However, back in October, I re-establishment patient care relations with my previous doctor after about 5 years. In those 5 years, I was either freelancing (thus didn’t have health insurance) or I wasn’t living in the local area. I had to get some vaccination shots, lab work, and a PAP. I was also able to get back on prescriptions that I used to be on.

One of the main concerns my doctor had was my weight. Her opinion was for me to get weight loss surgery. And I’ll be honest that I definitely was willing. However, at the same time, my husband’s lab results showed that he has diabetes. Thus, we both decided to go on the keto diet which worked for him 2-3 years ago when he was doing it. So far, the both of us have lost 20 lb each. I’m hoping to keep the momentum going.

With the recent weight loss, I started doing a lot more self-care. Prior to my marriage a decade ago, I used to be a skincare/beauty fiend. I would spend lots of money on products but that cease when I got married and started working from home full time. I didn’t have a reason to put on makeup and I started to let myself go. But now with taking care of my skin and dieting, I feel like a new person and like I have an extra motivation in life.

I know I’ll get to a point where I’ll reached a plateau (in terms of weight loss) so I want to start incorporating exercise. In any case, I finally feel really good about myself.
