You can read the first part that encompassed Ch 1-170. This entailed all the chapters that were translated at the time of writing that blog post. Web Novel must have split some chapters into two as Ch 170 is essentially Ch 163 in the RAW/MTL version. There is a total of 2162 chapters. To be honest, I’m not sure if I’m going to do a summary when I continue reading. I might just make quick bullet points on the major events. We’ll see.
After the events of ML’s grandfather’s birthday party, the relationship between MC and ML is strained. MC feels uncomfortable about everything that happened, especially in light of her sister’s relationship with ML’s father. Eventually, the two reconciled during the Qixi Festival. I believe the Qixi Festival is similar to Valentine’s Day as it’s a day for lovers. That also happen to be the death day of both MC’s sister and ML’s father. ML visited his father at the cemetery before finding MC at her sister’s cemetery. It was raining and ML showed up just in time to share his umbrella with her. Once the two went home, ML surprised her with his Qixi Festival gift for her which is their marriage certificate. The two are officially married. ML finds out that MC has a fever. ML called Huo Sikai over to take a look at MC. He’s miffed as it’s just a common cold, LOL. However, he warned ML that it might not be good to go against his family and that Yue Yiru cried at the party. MC slept for most of the day, when ML goes to wake her, he noticed that her hair had turned red. He freaked out thinking that he’s seeing a ghost. When “MC” woke up, he asked her who she is. “MC” looked at him and automatically called him Yueheng (his father’s name). That’s when he realize that Mu Siyun (MC’s sister) had taken over MC’s body. When ML mentioned MC, Mu Siyun panicked and asked him where her sister is. She’s worried about not seeing her sister. She continuously call ML “Yueheng”. ML tells him that he’s not, he’s Yueheng’s son. Mu Siyun tells him that he’s lying because Xiao Bei is still a little boy. However, the butler knocked on the door calling for ML. When he opened the door, something on the butler’s body scared Mu Siyun and she dropped. Fortunately, ML was able to catch her before she fell. ML asked his friend to look for a real psychic. The next time MC wakes up, she’s MC again. The butler has a Buddhist amulet on his body and that’s what scared Mu Siyun.
Although the whole scene with Mu Siyun is a little bit crazy, it confirmed that the relationship between MC’s sister and ML’s father was definitely romantic. I do believe that whenever they went out on a date, they brought MC and ML along too. That’s probably how the two of them knew each other. Honestly, I find that a little weird as ML was 16 years old then and he would be old enough to know that his father was cheating on his mother. The age gap between him and MC are rather large. I don’t see why ML’s father would bring him out as a playmate for MC.
ML met with an reclusive psychic and won him over with chess. He brought the psychic back and at night when Mu Siyun takes over MC’s body again, the psychic determine that Mu Siyun died with a lot of resentment that’s why she can’t move on. And a remnant soul of Mu Siyun lies within MC. ML also discover through Mu Siyun’s words that the car accident was intentional and not accidental. The psychic recommends that they fulfill Mu Siyun’s wish as soon as possible so that she will leave MC’s body and it seems she wants justice for her death. The psychic gives ML a blood jade bracelet to put on MC that would not allow Mu Siyun to appear. Despite this, ML is reluctant to be intimate with MC as long as part of Mu Siyun’s soul is inside of MC’s body. This makes MC question if ML has lost his passion for her.
For the Qixi Festival, someone other than ML sent MC flowers. The message said something along the line of hoping that she’ll always remain innocent. I don’t know if this person is a secret admirer or not. MC also learned that her mother had a lover that’s not her father. She went through her mother’s jewelry and found a jade with a quote carved into it. She’s sure it wasn’t given to her mother by her father as her father isn’t an affectionate man. During her mother’s death day, MC and ML visits her grave to find white orchid there.
MC has another best friend besides Ji Yang, named Qiu Ci. She’s a well-known ballerina and have been performing abroad so she’s been MIA from the story until now. Ji Yang and MC planned to see the performance together and spend some quality female time with their friend. However, ML wanted to come along, then MC’s cousin, Lu Jingchen who has a crush on Qiu Ci also wanted to go too. On the day of the performance, ML also brought along his boys: Huo Sikai, Shi Ran, Shi Mo, and Leng Jiuchen. Because there were so many people going now, MC asked Ji Yang and Lu Jingchen to meet at the same place to wait for her. So of course, the two showed up before MC and began bickering and arguing with each other. LOL. Also, MC had internally mention that she feels bad for her cousin who has a crush on Qiu Ci because in her past life, her cousin doesn’t end up with Qiu Ci. Qiu Ci will find a boyfriend soon. She didn’t say who though. However, at the performance, Qiu Ci caught Leng Jiuchen’s eyes! I find this very exciting because Leng Jiuchen is a famous general/military man and whenever he’s mentioned in the story, it’s with awe. When MC and Ji Yang went backstage to get Qiu Ci, they see a bouquet of Qiu Ci’s favorite flowers. When Ji Yang asked who sent it, the note said that it was from “Mr. Leng”. Wow, he definitely worked fast, LOL.
The gang goes out to dinner and it’s evident that Leng Jiuchen is interested in Qiu Ci. The next day, the three girls hang out. Lu Jingchen joined them for lunch. Lu Jingchen and Ji Yang can’t help but bicker endlessly. After lunch, Lu Jingchen asked Qiu Ci if she is interested in taking a stroll with him. She agreed. When she returned, it’s only her and she admitted to letting Lu Jingchen down because she didn’t want him to waste his time on her.
MC goes and see her Lu Grandfather as she heard that he wasn’t feeling well. She gets a lot of love from the Lu family and spends the night with them. While she’s away, ML’s mother brings Yue Yiru over to ML’s villa. She tried to get them to spend the night at ML’s but he calls them out so they have no choice but to leave. ML’s butler spills the beans to MC the next day, LOL.
MC has been working at Mu Corporation in the Jewelry Design department for a few weeks. Her superior, Director Wang gets instructions from the Mu family (probably MC’s father and Mu Xingyu) to make things difficult for MC. The Jewelry Design department gets a potential client in Mrs. Laura who’s interested in seeing if they can design something that she would like. The contract would be 500 million if they pass. The chief designer, Mi Quan’s designs does not get approval from Mrs. Laura. In the argument between Mi Quan and Director Wang, Director Wang condescendingly give the project over to MC. She even tells MC that if she gets Mrs. Laura’s approval with her designs, she would even promote MC to deputy director. This is a position that Mi Quan wants. MC learns from ML that she had actually been recommended to Mu Corporation by him. Obviously, MC managed to win Mrs. Laura over with her designs. Mi Quan thinks MC’s “rich boyfriend” hired a “ghostwriter” or MC plagiarize/stole someone else’s designs. Mi Quan has been a thorn in Director Wang’s eyes so she used this opportunity to get rid of her. However, Director Wang is concerned now as she had promised to promote MC. We find out that Director Wang is having an affair with MC’s father. MC’s father calls her to come home after work that day.
Back at Mu family home before MC showed up, MC’s father, stepmother, and grandmother are discussing the 500 million yuan contract and MC’s promotion. They all disagree to allowing MC to be promoted. They decide to tell her to work her to satisfied Mrs. Laura but will not promote her in the end. They also discussed the need to find the succession certificate because once they find it, MC would not be the largest stockholder. They think she kept it in her bookshelf in her room. Once MC arrive, they just tell her to work hard on the designs. Later, Mu Xingyu also comes home and she and her mother discussed drugging MC while searching her room. MC’s father wants to do the dirty with Director Wang so he comes up with an excuse and leave the house. MC takes a shower and takes off the blood jade bracelet. MC’s stepmother comes into her room and tried to search her bookshelf but Mu Siyun wakes up and accuses her of killing her mother. MC’s stepmother is scared and said that they didn’t mean to kill her. She was so scared that she became unconscious. Mu Siyun ran out. Mu Xingyu went to look for her mother and saw that MC’s bedroom was open. She saw her mother on the ground unconscious. When her mother comes to, she’s become crazy and kept yelling for Mu Siyun to let her go and she didn’t mean to kill Mu Siyun’s mother. Mu Xingyu called the ambulance and wakes her grandmother. When MC’s grandmother heard what MC’s stepmother said, she tells Mu Xingyu to tell the ambulance that they no longer need them. Mu Xingyu is confused and still wants to take her mother to the hospital but grandmother refused. Obviously, if others hear what MC’s stepmother said, she would be in jail.
When Mu Siyun woke up, the psychic got alerted. Fortunately at that time, ML was playing chess with the psychic. They find Mu Siyun at the Mu’s cemetery sobbing in front of her mother’s tombstone. Mu Siyun tells ML that her father killed her mother. The psychic sprinkled something on Mu Siyun’s body that rendered her unconscious because she had occupied MC’s body too long. The psychic tells ML that Mu Siyun won’t appear for the next 3 days but to put the blood jade bracelet back on MC as soon as possible. Unfortunately, MC’s grandmother found the bracelet first and knew what’s going on. ML also introduced himself to MC’s family. MC’s grandmother gave him the bracelet and MC had the psychic look to see if she did anything to it (she didn’t).
The next morning, MC finds herself at MC’s villa. He tells her that he missed her and decided to drive by Mu’s family home when he saw her sleepwalking barefoot so he brought her home. She doesn’t believe him but her feet were covered in gauze and there would be no other explanation. Mu Xingyu harasses her because she blames MC for her mother going crazy but MC has no idea what happened.
MC’s maternal grandfather isn’t feeling well so MC and ML brings Huo Sikai, who’s a genius doctor, to see him. Grandfather Lu is upset to see ML as he knows that ML is from the Shi family. Grandfather blames both the Mu and Shi family for his daughter’s death. He opposes ML being with MC. ML shows him their marriage certificate and also tells him about the possibility that MC’s mother’s death is not suicide but homicide. He gives Grandfather Lu evident (clips of MC’s stepmother being crazy). This gives Grandfather Lu some vigor and he accepts ML.
Mrs. Laura arrived in town and they have a banquet for her where they will sign the 500 million yuan contract. Mrs. Laura instantly likes MC upon meeting her and tells MC that she’s a fan of MC’s mother’s work. Mu Xingyu takes an opportunity to scheme against MC by working with Mi Quan, the former chief designer. Mi Quan accuses MC of having her boyfriend hired someone else to do the designs. Mrs. Laura asked her what evidence they have that MC stole someone’s design. Mi Quan couldn’t rebuke as they haven’t been able to find evidence. Mu Xingyu distracts them by saying that if it’s really MC’s design for MC to do a design right then and there. So MC creates a design based on Mrs. Laura’s preference in front of everyone who’s shocked at how talented MC is. When MC’s father asked security to take Mi Quan out, she begged Mu Xingyu to help her. Mu Xingyu tried to pretend she isn’t working with Mi Quan but the two uncover each other’s part in the scheme. MC’s father had security lock the both of them up in another room as they almost cost him the 500 million yuan contract. Prior to the drama, MC’s father and grandmother were hesitant to sign the contract as it stipulates that it is only valid if the designer is MC. MC’s father and grandmother had been planning to switch MC out after they signed the contract. But with Mi Quan and Mu Xingyu’s show, Mrs. Laura suddenly expressed maybe not signing the contract. MC’s father said he will agree to any terms and so the contract gets signed.
In the locked room, Mi Quan and Mu Xingyu continued to argue and gets into a physical fights rendering both of them half naked. The police comes and the Mu family played it off that there’s nothing serious going on. They start pointing fingers at MC saying she called the cops. She said she didn’t and when would she have had the time as she has been with everyone. The cops tell them that it was a gay man who called, not MC. ML picks MC up from the banquet and Director Wang sees him from the back and thinks he looks powerful. Director Wang thinks that perhaps it was MC’s boyfriend who called the cops. Mi Quan and Mu Xingyu gets taken into the police station and arrested. They have to spend 3 days in there. However, the next day is Mu Xingyu’s engagement with Gu Yifan. So her father was able to work it out that Mu Xingyu comes out for the engagement but she has to go back in and sit for 2 days.
The day before his engagement, Gu Yifan goes to find MC. He tells her that he’s sorry and loves her only and asked if they can go back to how things were before. She tells him that it’s impossible between them. He demands to know if it’s because of “that wild man” but she tells him that the day she found out about Gu Yifan and Mu Xingyu, it became impossible for them.
On the day of the engagement, MC’s father went early to pick up Mu Xingyu from the police station. She cried and told her father that she almost got violated by the other female prisoners and she doesn’t want to go back. Mu Xingyu wants MC to be present at the engagement so she can see that Mu Xingyu won in taking Gu Yifan away from MC. She tells her father and grandmother that since they won’t let her mother be present, MC must be there. MC had promised ML that she would not go. However, MC’s father called and threatened her with moving her mother and sister out of the Mu cemetery. At the engagement, the groom is nowhere to be found. Gu Yiling is tasked with finding her brother. She found him super drunk. When Mu Xingyu goes to him, he pushes her away. However, the engagement proceeded anyways. MC gets up and leave but Mu Xingyu takes this opportunity to confront her (like seriously, get on with your engagement). Gu Yifan sees MC and runs to her. He won’t let her go and even kneels down and beg her to take him back. MC was finally able to get away. But not before everyone hears about what happened. As she returned to the company, ML calls her to come out. He’s livid and upset with her. He ignores her and gives her the cold shoulders. MC falls asleep alone crying while ML had his people find Gu Yifan and beat him up.
Gu Yifan wakes up from his drunken state without realizing everything that he had done. Mu Xingyu is upset and crying. He assures her that he was just so happy to be engaged to her that he got drunk. Mu Xingyu thinks MC had seduced Gu Yifan, that’s why he was acting that way. Gu Yifan is embarrassed to see pictures of him kneeling and begging MC. He coaxed Mu Xingyu and the two starts getting it on. In the middle of intercourse, ML’s men finds him and beat him within an inch of his life. They left him a warning that he should not have touched who he touched.
Hurt over ML avoiding her, MC decides to take some time off work. She threaten Director Wang with the knowledge of her affair with MC’s father. As she’s leaving work, she hear screams as a van is accelerating and cannot stop due to faulty brakes. MC sees a little boy who’s frozen so she runs and saves him. He tells her that he’s run away from home and is looking for his mother. He gives MC his mother’s phone number and when she called, it is Director Wang! MC makes an excuse and hung up to question the boy. We know from a conversation between MC’s father and grandmother that MC’s father has been with Director Wang for a long time. They have a son together. They are planning to bring Director Wang into the Mu household after Mu Xingyu gets married. MC’s grandmother has patriachiac views and is happy to finally have a grandson. So specifically hid him away so he lives with a nanny and an aunt. His mother, father, and grandmother would visit him from time to time.
Director Wang gets a call from the nanny that her son is missing and she’s freaking out as she goes to look for him. MC is calling her nonstop and she’s upset. She finally picks up and yells at MC. But MC tells her that she picked up a boy who insist that she calls his mother. The boy’s name is Mu Zibin and MC knew right away that he’s the offspring of Director Wang and her father. Director Wang meet up with them and ask if MC will hurt Mu Zibin in the future. MC realized that her father and grandfather weren’t planning on giving the company to Mu Xingyu but they were holding onto it for Mu Zibin. MC tells Director Wang that Mu Zibin is innocent before leaving.
ML is still avoiding MC. She went to visit her Lu grandfather and Huo Sikai is there. Huo Sikai invites ML to come over to have lunch with them but when ML hears MC’s voice, he declined. Huo Sikai tells MC that ML is busy as there is a family dinner with the Yue family. Grandfather Leng (the grandfather of Leng Jiuchen and Leng Jiao, ML’s buddies) is also the grandfather of Yue Yiru (MC’s love rival). Yue Yiru’s mother is the daughter of Grandfather Leng. The elders want to marry ML and Yue Yiru. Yue Yiru’s father has been promoted to Secretary of State so the dinner is to honor that promotion. The relationship between Yue Yiru’s father and ML is actually really good. ML tells him that he has a beloved and won’t marry Yue Yiru. This caused Yue Yiru’s mother to throw out all the information she collected on MC to show ML how horrible of a woman MC is. However, ML is upset that they investigated MC.
Meanwhile, MC gets call to the Mu family in the evening. She didn’t want to go but Mu Xingyu send picture of her destroyed bookshelf that had all the relics her mother left her. MC goes back and was drugged by her grandmother, father, and Mu Xingyu. MC’s grandmother knew that Mu Siyun exist in MC’s body so she planned to bury both of them together. Once MC’s been drugged, they take her up to her room. At that moment, Director Wang brings Mu Zibin to the Mu family home. Grandmother Mu comes down and chastised Director Wang for bringing Mu Zibin as Mu Xingyu is in the house. She also pushes Mu Zibin away when he goes in for a hug, hurting his feelings. As they’re about to leave, Mu Zibin sees MC’s phone on the couch. Director Wang is suspicious as it’s really Qiuet in the Mu house. Mu Zibin is worried about MC. Director Wang tells him that MC is actually his half-sister and she might fight with him in the future. She tried to tell Mu Zibin that it’s OK, nothing will happen to MC. But he knows she’s lying. He tells her that MC saved him and he wants to save her. So Director Wang takes MC’s phone and calls the number that’s most common in the phone log (which is ML’s).
ML is in the middle of dinner with the Yue family when he sees the call from MC. His mother chastised him for picking up a call during dinner but he excused himself. Director Wang tells him that MC is potentially locked inside the Mu home before hanging up. This was as much as she’s willing to do for MC. ML takes off to the dismay of everyone.
Back at the Mu home, Grandmother Mu had Father Mu and Mu Xingyu placed talisman around MC’s room. They are both shocked and scared. They also start a fire. The person who wakes up is actually Mu Siyun with her red hair. Mu Xingyu is so scared that she fainted. Mu Siyun accuses her father of killing her mother. Grandmother Mu tells him to take Mu Xingyu and go down to call the firefighters. Mu Siyun finds out from her grandmother that her soul is using MC’s body and she’s going to bury both of them together. However, ML gets there and picks up Mu Siyun but she can’t move due to the talisman. Mu Siyun realized that ML is not Yueheng. She tells him everything she knows including that MC is not the daughter of the Mu family. In the car accident, MC needed blood and that’s how Father Mu realized that MC is not his daughter. He and Grandmother Mu confronted MC’s mother with Father’s Mu’s mistress (MC’s stepmother). They killed her and so during the funeral they pushed her off the building to make it look like a suicide. She also tells ML that someone messed with the brakes in the car as well as the traffic lights. Mu Siyun’s soul finally leaves knowing that ML loves MC. ML was able to take MC away. The next day, Father Mu, Grandmother Mu, and Mu Xingyu is taken in for questioning. Father Mu is taking blame for everything in order to protect Grandmother Mu and Mu Xingyu.
ML ends up having to tell MC the truth about everything including her sister’s remnant soul in her body and the fact that she is not the biological daughter of Father Mu. Now that Mu Siyun is gone, ML waste no time in being intimate with MC. When she refused after awhile, he reminds her of when she continuously tried to seduce him. MC realized that the reason ML had stayed away from her was because of her sister’s soul.
During the dinner with the Yue/Leng family, the President has the intention to engage his youngest daughter to Leng Jiuchen. There’s no way that the Leng family will refuse. Qiu Ci had called MC to ask about her situation as she saw in the news that the Mu family home burned down. She finds out that Qiu Ci and Leng Jiuchen have been talking on the phone daily although it’s usually less than a minute. MC asked ML what Leng Jiuchen’s intentions towards Qiu Ci is. So ML tells MC that if Qiu Ci means a lot to MC, to tell Qiu Ci not to start anything with Leng Jiuchen because Leng Jiuchen will probably end up marrying the President’s daughter. MC tells Qiu Ci about it. Qiu Ci knows there’s a status gap between the two so she had been cautious towards him anyways.
We find out that the person who sent MC flowers is someone named Mr. Wu Ming. She had apparently saved him a few times. He called her after all the news regarding the engagement between Gu Yifan and Mu Xingyu. She makes it clear that she has a boyfriend. So he tells her that he’ll just wait until she’s single again but she tells him that there won’t be an opportunity again. I don’t see him going away so I’m a little afraid what’s going to happen.
MC and ML goes and visit Grandfather Lu to let him know what happened to the Mu family. MC tells Grandfather Lu that she’s not the biological daughter of Father Mu. When she asked him if he has any inkling who her father may be, he doesn’t. MC’s grandfather also gives her the succession certificate as he’s been keeping it for MC’s mother this whole time. Afterward, Grandfather Lu and ML talks privately. ML shows him the jade pendent that they believed was given to MC’s mother by her lover. Grandfather Lu recognize it but denies knowing who the person is. He plays it off that it’s probably something MC’s mother had purchased randomly. But ML tells him he suspects it was given to MC’s mother by MC’s biological father. Grandfather Lu tells ML to not investigate anymore since if MC’s mother concealed it, she had her reasons.
With no one managing Mu Corporation, MC takes the opportunity to become the CEO through shareholder votes. She is stopped by Grandmother Mu and Mu Xingyu. The two tell the shareholders that MC is not a biological child of the Mu family. Unfortunately for them, MC hold the most shares and Mu Corporation was started by her mother. MC also have the backing of Tengyue Technology. If they vote against her, Tengyue Technology will also withdraw. The shareholders vote for MC but everyone isn’t happy as MC is young with no experience. MC starts working as the CEO with ML’s assistant Yan Ze helping her.
MC also finds out that Director Wang was the person to call ML that night. She expressed her thanks but Director Wang said if she knew that it would end up with Father Mu in jail, she would not have helped her. She also tells MC that if it weren’t for Mu Zibin wanting to save her, she wouldn’t have helped. MC assures Director Wang that Father Mu will leave his shares for Mu Zibin and MC will not fight Mu Zibin for them. She also said she hopes that Director Wang will continue to stay with the company. As MC walked away, she silently expressed that if in the future, Mu Zibin can manage Mu Corporation, she would not hesitate to give the company to him.
Despite how many times ML have turned down Yue Yiru, she’s obsessed with him. Her mother wants to scheme against MC but Yue Yiru said they don’t need to do anything as ML’s mother and grandfather will separate ML and MC. Yue Yiru’s mother asked if she really wants to marry ML as he’s constantly entangled with MC. Yue Yiru assured her that ML can only be hers. Wow! Meanwhile, ML’s mother and grandfather are finding ways to split the couple They decide they will announce that ML has a marriage contract so it looks like MC is a homewrecker.
ML asked MC when she’s going to suppress her news that’s all over the media (about her not being the Mu family daughter). MC tells him that she’s hoping her biological father will see it and realize that she’s his daughter. Sure enough, we get a scene where someone sees the photos of MC and comment “A-Lan, you still lied to me…” A-Lan is probably a pet name for MC’s mother (her name is Lu Shilan). I can’t wait to find out who her biological father is. I think he’s someone powerful, that’s why Grandfather Lu was so scared.
Grandmother Mu and Mu Xingyu are still scheming. Mu Xingyu have yet to find out about Director Wang and her younger half-brother. She’s such an idiot, constantly be used by Father and Grandfather Mu. Grandmother Mu tells her that although MC have her mother’s shares, she will never get Father Mu’s shares and only Mu Xingyu can inherit it. Grandmother Mu tells her she needs to marry Gu Yifan as soon as possible so they can fight back. Grandmother Mu reminds Mu Xingyu about the mysterious backer who had saved Gu Company previously. Mu Xingyu is unsure that the Gu family would allow her to marry Gu Yifan (who’s still hospitalized) after everything that happened. Grandmother Mu tell her to tell them that she’s pregnant with Gu Yifan’s child. In Gu Yifan’s hospital, he is gloomy as there’s a chance that he might not ever be able to have kids in the future due to his injuries. Mu Xingyu comes in claiming that she’s 4 weeks pregnant with proof and an ultrasound scan. Everyone is happy especially Gu Yifan. Mu Xingyu is relishing in the love and care from both Gu Yifan and Mother Gu. Mu Xingyu finds nothing wrong with her white lies as she thinks that the two of them will be married soon and a baby will naturally come.
There was an explosion in a base in Africa so ML has to leave to see what’s going on. MC doesn’t have a good feelings about it. ML’s mother wants to use this opportunity that ML is not around to announce the marriage contract between him and Yue Yiru. But ML’s grandfather tells her to wait.
MC finds out that Ji Yang have been injured. It’s the same scenario as her last life. However, Lu Jingchen was there to save Ji Yang. LOL. He had told MC that he was going to F City for business. MC mention that Ji Yang is there too and maybe the two of them will have a chance encounter. LOL. So the first thing Lu Jingchen said to MC is that she jinxed him and he ended up indeed seeing Ji Yang. He followed her because she was dressed like a woman and he was suspicious about what she was going to do. He saw her tried to pick up a gangster and was going to turn away and leave when he heard them fighting. Ji Yang got shot near the heart and the doctors in F City weren’t equipped to operate on her so Lu Jingchen took her in a helicopter back to their city.
ML’s mother invites MC out to meet her through some bodyguards. Yan Ze refused and the bodyguards asked that he give them some face but Yan Ze wants them to ask ML first. MC tells him that since they want to make her, she’ll go. ML’s mother tells her to leave ML and only Yue Yiru is worthy to be his wife. She tells MC that Yue Yiru is the daughter of the secretary of state while MC doesn’t even know who her father is. (I’m going to call it and say that I think MC’s father is the President, LOL). MC tells ML’s mother that as long as ML doesn’t give up on her, she won’t leave him.
MC goes and visit Ji Yang in the hospital. She’s out of ICU but is still unconscious. While waiting for Ji Yang to wake up, Lu Jingchen also comes by. MC is worried about the gauze on Ji Yang’s face and if there will be scars. Lu Jingchen said there probably will be as she had gotten sliced by a glass bottle. He said it’s a pity that it’s ugly and Ji Yang will never be able to marry, LOL. Then they hear Ji Yang counter that she never planned on marrying before falling back to sleep. MC and Lu Jingchen bickers and MC wants to know why Lu Jingchen is even there. He tells her that he saved Ji Yang so he wants to hear her call him her savior, LOL. Lu Jingchen tells MC that she looks tired so he will stay behind to watch over Ji Yang. MC questioned him if he really wanted to stay with Ji Yang but he assured her that he only cares about how tired she (MC), his cousin is. In the middle of the night, Lu Jingchen hears Ji Yang asking for water. He spoonfeeds her a few times. However, something happened and he almost fell on top of Ji Yang (she’s still sleeping). He braced himself as now to hurt her further but their lips touched, LOL. He’s worried about losing his first kiss just like that. But tells himself that no one saw so that doesn’t count. The next morning, the two bicker but Ji Yang has to admit that Lu Jingchen really rescued her this time.
Yue Yiru’s father, the new Secretary of State (Yue Xiang) took office and Yue Yiru’s mother used that opportunity to announce the marriage between Yue Yiru and ML. It’s all over the news. Yue Xiang is upset because he didn’t know about it. Yue Yiru tells her father that she wants to marry ML. He tells her that marrying someone who loves someone else will be very painful. She tells him that she believes with them, he will fall in love with her. We also find out that the Yue family son who was studying abroad also came back for his father’s inauguration. And he happens to be an acquaintance of MC! Earlier, Yue Yiming, sent MC a text message that he returned to the country. He reminds her that she promised to have dinner with him when he returned. She remembered that when she visited his country, he played host to her so she feel obligated to go to dinner with him. Yue Yiming calls MC and she tells him that her friend is injured so she can’t have dinner with him. He finds his way to the hospital and the two have dinner after all. MC tells him that she has a boyfriend and he’s disappointed as he really likes MC.
MC finds out that ML was injured so she decides to fly out to see him in Africa. However, ML’s mother also finds out first so she took Yue Yiru with her to see ML in Africa. When MC arrived, ML’s mother and Yue Yiru are already there. Shi Ran sees MC and automatically called out to her as sister-in-law. ML’s mother is annoyed and tells Shi Ran that Yue Yiru is the sister-in-law but Shi Ran countered back asking if ML had approved of her already. ML’s mother tells MC to leave and that she has no right to be there but she tells ML’s mother that she is ML’s recognized fiancée so she won’t be going anywhere. ML’s mother tried to get the bodyguards to kick MC out but they are all hesitant as they know that MC is ML’s beloved. If they kick her out, there will be retribution once ML wakes up. Fortunately, they are saved when ML wakes up and calls for MC. She goes in first and ML asked for a kiss. She shies away. When the rest of the party comes in, MC tries to move away but ML holds onto her hands tightly and refused to let her go. Yue Yiru is insanely jealous seeing how delicate ML treats MC when he’s always been cold towards other women. Despite seeing with her own eyes how much ML and MC love each other, Yue Yiru does not plan on giving up. In fact, she decides that MC is not an idiot thus she needs to plan carefully in the future. ML had enough and demanded to return to China as his mother won’t let MC near him. When they get to ML’s villa, ML’s mother tried to get ML to allow her and Yue Yiru to stay with him to take care of him but he refused.
When they returned, Leng Jiuchen comes to visit ML and asked if he allowed MC to tell Qiu Ci to avoid him. At first, ML tried to play dumb but Leng Jiuchen sees right through him. So ML asked him what he’s trying to do if he’s going to marry the President’s daughter anyways. Leng Jiuchen tells ML to mind his own business. MC calls Qiu Ci and finds out that she’s back in the city. Her tour has been canceled. Both MC and ML know that Leng Jiuchen was the person who had the tour canceled as Qiu Ci has been avoiding his calls and messages.
Because ML is still not well, MC doesn’t want him to know about the news that came out about his marriage contract with Yue Yiru when he was in Africa. Yue Yiru and her mother discussed things and her mother tells her that everyone knows that Yue Yiru is the future mistress of the Shi family and if it comes out that MC is with ML, everyone will condemn her for being a mistress and trying to come in between Yue Yiru and ML. The news come out and Lu Jingchen calls MC upset that ML is not doing anything while MC’s reputation is getting ruined. That’s how ML finds out. He takes MC to the Civil Affairs Bureau to take their marriage photo. They have the certificates but did not take photos yet. As soon as they were about to post it to announce that they are married, all the news ridiculing MC were removed. We see that a man (most likely MC’s biological father) had asked his assistant to have the news suppressed. MC asked if ML did it, he said he didn’t. He called Yan Ze and he’s confused as well so he asked Yan Ze to investigate. ML asked MC if someone is trying to protect her but she tells him that he’s all she has. Woot, this is getting fun!
Yue Yiming is heartbroken to see that MC’s “boyfriend” is ML. He asked his mother if they were the ones to released all that information about MC. They are surprised by his reaction as he’s abroad most of the time so would not know MC. He calls MC and asks if the man MC was talking about is ML. She confirmed. He tried to tell her that ML will not marry her but she said she believes ML. Yue Yiming hangs up as he doesn’t want to listen to MC defend ML.
Yue Yiru begs her father to talk to ML to force him to marry her but Yue Xiang refuses. He’s probably the most reasonable characters in the story and rightly so the Secretary of State. He respects ML because ML refuses the marriage and told Yue Xiang that he has someone else in his heart. Yue Xiang tells Yue Yiru why she wants to be with someone who doesn’t even care/love her. When she respond that she doesn’t care and can make him love her, Yue Xiang tells her that she’s too simple and naïve. When she wants to argue more, he laid down the law and tells her not to embarrass the family anymore.
Meanwhile, our couple is being lovey-dovey and making up for all the missing intimacies, paying no mind to anyone else. Although a little late, ML gave MC a beautiful proposal in the garden. The two then had their wedding night. Early the next morning, ML posted on his personal Weibo account a photo of their marriage certificate with a message “I will only have you in my life.” And ML’s family company also posted a video on Weibo through their official account of ML proposing to MC with the caption: “Our Mr and Mrs Shi”. MC only finds out from her friend Ji Yang as she was not aware ML was going to announce it.
ML’s mother and grandfather comes over to his villa to confront him about getting married behind their back. As they are threatening to exile MC out of the country if they don’t divorce, Grandfather Lu comes in to defend his granddaughter. Grandfather Shi is annoyed to death to learn that Grandfather Lu knew about the marriage a long time ago. They threaten to expose the relationship between MC’s older sister and ML’s father. Grandfather Lu tells them to go ahead as Father Shi isn’t completely innocent in the affair and he also believes that it’s unfair for all the blame to fall on his granddaughter alone.
Leng Jiuchen’s grandfather confronts him for helping ML get the marriage license. He admitted that he helped ML. Grandfather Leng tells him that he helped ML embarrassed the Yue family but Leng Jiuchen said it was all due to their own action when ML had already made it clear that he won’t marry Yue Yiru. Leng Jiuchen and Grandfather Leng fought some more before Leng Jiuchen stormed off. Grandfather Leng lament that he should have had Leng Jiao married ML instead as the two actually have a good relationship unless Yue Yiru who never even talked to ML before. Leng Jiao tells him that she already have someone she likes. He asked if it’s Huo Sikai and she said it is. Cute!
Leng Jiuchen has been in a bad mood lately because a certain ballerina has been avoiding his calls. He called someone he has watching her to ask if her plane landed yet. The other person said that it just landed. Leng Jiuchen goes to the airport to wait for her. He sees her come out talking happily on the phone. After she hangs up, Leng Jiuchen calls her again and saw that she did block his number, LOL! Qiu Ci is heading towards her nanny van when she’s stopped by soldiers in military uniforms. One of the soldiers tells her that their chief wants to date her and for her to come with them. LOL, omg! Knowing they were sent by Leng Jiuchen, she tells the soldier that she’s busy. The soldier asked that she have mercy on him as it was a military order and if he failed, he will be sent to the border. She figured there were some things she needed to be upfront with Leng Jiuchen so she agreed to go with them. She was surprised to see Leng Jiuchen in the car. As they drove away, he takes her into his arms which scared her. He asked for an explanation why she won’t answer his calls and blocked him. She tells him that he has a noble status and they shouldn’t intersect. He tells her that’s not a good reason before kissing her domineeringly. She slapped him. Leng Jiuchen brought her to his villa and asked her to be his woman but she refused and left.
MC finally goes to work and she is visited by Mu Xingyu and Grandmother Mu. They tell MC that Mu Xingyu will inherit Father Mu’s shares which would be enough for her to be the vice president of Mu Corporation. She tells them that Mu Xingyu will have to be voted in by all the shareholders. Grandmother Mu is using Mu Xingyu as a shield since Mu Zibin is still very young. She tells Mu Xingyu to hurry and get pregnant. Mu Xingyu is embarrassed to tell her grandmother that with his injuries, Gu Yifan have not be able to get it up, thus they haven’t been intimate. Grandmother Mu freaks out as they had lied that Mu Xingyu is pregnant when there is no baby in her stomach. Mu Xingyu is figuring out ways to get pregnant, either by artifical insemination or to find a man when she gets a call from Yue Yiru to meet. When she arrived at the health club they agreed, Yue Yiru had not shown up. However, Mu Xingyu sees her future father-in-law, Father Gu with a woman in his arms. She follows him into a room and I guess the girl he was went ran away so he caught Mu Xingyu. He’s drunk and tells Mu Xingyu that her eyes look like his future daughter-in-law’s. She calls him uncle and asks him to stop but this only excite him more. Mu Xingyu thought some more and realized that if she can become pregnant tonight, the baby would still be a Gu and this would solve her problem so she allows Father Gu to sleep with her. Mu Xingyu is enjoying intercourse with Father Gu and thinks he is much better in bed than Gu Yifan. After a night of intense tumbling and after Father Gu fell asleep, Mu Xingyu escaped.
Mu Xingyu and Yue Yiru meets at the same place they were supposed to meet the day prior (at the health club). They planned out what to do with MC and their idea is to drug MC and get her into another man’s bed and videotape it. That way she would not have the face to stay in the country and ML would no longer want her. Mu Xingyu internalized that the last time she drugged MC, the man MC probably slept with was most likely ML so she wants to make sure she finds someone ugly this time. She tells Yue Yiru they must find an ugly man for MC. But Yue Yiru tells Mu Xingyu that to make it believable and remove speculations that it was a set up, they must find a man that MC is familiar with in the past. Mu Xingyu realized Yue Yiru meant to use Gu Yifan. Mu Xingyu is upset and tells Yue Yiru she refused to let MC roll around the bed with her man. But Yue Yiru counter that Gu Yifan can’t even get it up anymore so there’s no way he would sleep with MC anyways. They just need to make it look convincing. Mu Xingyu agreed after Yue Yiru promised to keep her and Gu Yifan safe after it happens as she’s afraid what ML will do to Gu Yifan when he finds out.
The Lu family is having a blind date banquet to find a wife for Lu Jingchen. Even Huo Sikai attends as the two have become really good friends with Huo Sikai coming over to take care of Grandfather Lu often. Lu Jingchen is willing to get married if it’ll make his parents and grandfather happy but a small part of him feels reluctant. MC and ML also shows up and as usual are affectionate with each other. Huo Sikai asked them why they came to show off their love and steal the limelight when Lu Jingchen is the star tonight. MC asked Huo Sikai why he also came then, is he not worried that he’ll steal the girls from under Lu Jingchen. Lu Jingchen tells Huo Sikai that he is welcome to pick any of the girls there tonight. ML asked MC if she’s trying to get Huo Sikai killed by Leng Jiao. LOL. Apparently Leng Jiao is obsessed with Huo Sikai and is possessive of him which is why he hides in the OB-GYN department as she’s afraid of pregnant women. The mention of Leng Jiao, who’s a soldier reminds Lu Jingchen of Ji Yang (a tough and aggressive girl). He shudders and runs off to find a delicate beauty to suppress the image. Lu Jingchen meet two girls fighting: Bai Ruoya and Li Peini. Li Peini is the aggressor and bullied Bai Ruoya. Lu Jingchen does not like vicious girls so he helped Bai Ruoya. Not really caring who he ends up, in the end Lu Jingchen choose Bai Ruoya. However, it seems that she’s a white lotus. The Bai family is clearly after a connection with ML.
Mu Xingyu entered MC’s office under the disguise of needing her to sign something. While MC read the contract, Mu Xingyu had the secretary bring in a cup of coffee and drugged it. I don’t know why MC is such an idiot, she never fail to get drugged. After Mu Xingyu left, Gu Yifan comes into the office and tried to rape her. MC is weak from being drugged by she manage to stab him in the chest with a scissor before escaping. When she reached the outside of her office, the power is cut and office is completely dark. Someone grabbed her, she screamed, then the person gave a quick chop on her neck to render her unconscious. MC has been kidnapped by Mr. Wu Ming (her admirer) and Jing Yang, the person who betrayed ML and made an explosion at the base in Africa. They plan to use MC to negotiate with ML.
ML and Yan Ze head over to Mu Corporation. They found out that the last people with MC before she disappeared are Gu Yifan and Mu Xingyu. ML broke Gu Yifan’s left arms and both his legs scaring Mu Xingyu. They discovered through surveillance that someone with Jing Yang’s profile was seen driving by at that moment. Thus, they now suspect MC’s been kidnapped by Jing Yang.
At the hospital, Gu Yifan cannot be save. Father Gu has been looking for the woman he slept with the other night as she just to his taste. He inquired from the staff at the health club and finally received a photo of the woman. He instantly recognize Mu Xingyu. However, isn’t she pregnant? He tossed her multiple times that night and it would not be good for the fetus. That night, Father Gu sent Mu Xingyu a text message telling her to meet him at a hotel room. Mu Xingyu doesn’t know if he had found out that she was the person he slept with but she still dressed up sexily to meet him. Father Gu finds out that Mu Xingyu is not pregnant but seeing that Gu Yifan is disable and he wants an heir, who better than Mu Xingyu. The two start their affair.
MC discovered that Jing Yang was also in the car accident with them 12 years ago. He was in the other car and the lone survivor from that car. He was paid off by the Shi family and is taking revenge against ML since ML’s father is dead. It seems that Mr. Wu Ming had handed MC over to Jing Yang and they are no longer in China but on an island somewhere. Before Jing Yang reached out to ML for terms and conditions, they received a message with MC’s coordinates. They are unsure if the information is legit or if it’s a trap. Jing Yang then calls and wants all the blueprints and designs for the arms that were being developed at the base in Africa in exchange for MC. I don’t think Jing Yang plan on handing MC over to ML at all as he mentioned that Mr. Wu Ming wants MC so they are just using her without the intent of releasing her. A little bit more about the mysterious Mr. Wu Ming. So he’s always wore a mask whenever MC met him. Apparently she had encountered him a few times and he’s very much interested in her but she doesn’t know his true identity. Anyways, Jing Yang gives ML coordinates and tell him to come alone. After the call, Leng Jiuchen tells ML that the coordinates they first received is probably legit. However, Yan Ze and Leng Jiuchen wonder who’s powerful enough to find the information so fast. ML said he suspect it is MC’s biological father since last time when news were suppressed about MC, they couldn’t find out who did it.
MC suspect that she might be pregnant as she felt nauseous when eating fish soup. Her realized that her period has been late and the feelings she gets is similar to when she was pregnant with ML’s baby in her past life. She decides she needs to take care of herself and the baby.
That night, ML was supposed to meet Jing Yang at a pier to exchange but they knew Jing Yang wouldn’t let them see MC so there was a good chance that MC would still be at the coordinates they received previously from the mystery person. So while Jing Yang was heading to the pier, ML and his people rescued MC. MC tells ML what she knows about Jing Yang and also about her encounters with Mr. Wu Ming. ML is insanely jealous about Mr. Wu Ming’s interest in MC. However, he felt a little grateful that Mr. Wu Ming likes MC so nothing happened to her.
Back at home, ML wants to get intimate with MC in the morning but she tells him that she might be pregnant. Both are overjoy! ML wants Huo Sikai to see her but she’s embarrass and said for them to just go to the hospital. That’s when he finally admitted that Huo Sikai is downstairs. In fact, all of their family and friends have heard that she’s been rescued and have come to see her including Grandfather Lu, Lu Jingchen, and Ji Yang. MC is shocked that everyone was downstairs and ML still wanted to be intimate with her letting them wait on them, LOL. Huo Sikai takes MC’s pulse and discovered that she is indeed pregnant (1 month). Everyone is celebrating. Grandfather Shi and Mother Shi comes over wanting to use this opportunity to shame MC because in the half month that she was kidnapped, ML had not gone to work as he was working relentlessly on finding MC. However, when they get there, there’s a house full of guests already. When it’s time to eat, everyone found a reason to leave. So when Ji Yang tried to escape, Grandfather Shi asked if everyone is leaving because he’s here. Ji Yang is annoyed that he didn’t say anything when others were leaving but said so when she tried. In the end, she ended up staying with Lu Jingchen. LOL.
Mother Shi and Grandfather Shi are still adamant about not allowing MC into the family but Lu Jingchen commented that even if they don’t want to do a wedding, it’s going to happen as MC is already pregnant. This shocked Mother Shi and Grandfather Shi and their mood is complicated because they are excited about ML’s child despite knowing that MC is the baby mama. However, they have opposed to the union for so long so they refused to express an approval or even a denial at this point. Grandfather Lu tells them that since they are unwilling, he will host the wedding himself. ML said that the wedding ceremony is just a formality as the two of them already got their marriage certificate. Mother Shi finally relented since after the birth of her grandson, it would not be too late to have ML divorce MC. After her agreement, the group discuss the wedding plan. Mother Shi caution MC not to overwork herself when taking wedding photos. This earned a small smile from ML and MC. In the end, ML brought up to Grandfather Lu in front of everyone that it would be nice if MC’s biological father can be present for the wedding. Grandfather Lu still deny knowing but MC is now aware that her grandfather definitely knows something.
News of the upcoming wedding between MC and ML are making the rounds. Yue Yiru is drowning in anger and envy. She gets a call, most likely from Mr. Wu Ming. He tells her that he want MC and she wants ML so they must meet. He also inform her that MC is pregnant with ML’s child. Yue Yiru is even more upset as if MC gives birth to a boy, Mother Shi and Grandfather Shi will have no choice but to accept MC. The two decide to meet that evening to cooperate in splitting the couple up.
Mother Gu catches Father Gu having an affair at the hotel. However, Mu Xingyu is hidden underneath the blanket. As much as Mother Gu hit the person underneath the blanket, Mu Xingyu refused to come out so Mother Gu has no idea that the woman having an affair with her husband is actually her daughter-in-law. Eventually Father Gu hit Mother Gu and pushed her out. She threaten to divorce him but Father Gu tells her that she’s the reason he’s looking for a mistress outside. Wow, men! After Mother Gu left, Mu Xingyu tells Father Gu that she no longer wants to continue the affair as she’s afraid of Gu Yifan finding out. However, Father Gu is obsessed with Mu Xingyu now so he dissuade her.
ML went to see Grandfather Lu alone to try to convince him again to tell him who MC’s biological father is as MC really wants to know. Grandfather Lu still refuses to disclose. He tells ML that MC’s mother’s death is on her biological father as Father Mu killed MC’s mother after finding out that MC is not his daughter. ML also tells Grandfather Lu that when MC was kidnapped, it was her biological father who helped them find MC. Grandfather Lu tells ML that despite that, MC’s biological father does not deserve MC’s love. ML had no choice but to leave but as he departs, he noticed a luxury black car enter the Lu family compound. He and Yan Ze automatically recognize the license plate. We finally find out who MC’s biological father is and I’m shocked! I thought it would be someone we have not met yet. I even thought it would be the President! MC’s biological father is Yue Xiang, the Secretary of State. Yes, MC and Yue Yiru are half sisters. Poor MC, what’s with all these sisters trying to steal her man. Grandfather Lu is angry to death to see Yue Xiang. Yue Xiang referred to MC as his daughter and Grandfather Lu refuse to let him recognize her. Yue Xiang wants to give dowry for MC. This is also refused by Grandfather Lu as well. Yue Xiang tells Grandfather Lu that if he refused the dowry, he will give it to ML. So Grandfather Lu quickly accept it but bar Yue Xiang from disturbing ML and MC or admitting to them that he’s MC’s biological father. After Yue Xiang came out, ML is still waiting for him. and followed him. They catch up to him in the car and knock on his door. Yue Xiang knew that ML suspect he’s MC’s father. The two had coffee together. ML tells Yue Xiang that it’s not convenient to announce that he’s MC’s biological father. Yue Xiang also agree and asked ML not to tell MC. He also tells ML that he promised Grandfather Lu that he won’t admit it to ML. Before leaving, Yue Xiang gave ML some well wishes for him and MC.
MC received a phone call from Director Wang. Mu Zibin has heart issues and need a heart transplant. Director Wang has no one to call but MC and asked for her help. She agreed and the next day, MC and ML paid Mu Zibin a visit at the hospital. During the visit, Grandmother Mu walked into the room and is shocked to see ML and MC there. She yelled at Director Wang for telling MC about Mu Zibin. Director Wang said that MC has a wider network and can help them look for a heart but Grandmother Mu thinks that MC will use this opportunity to harm Mu Zibin. MC tells Grandmother Mu that not everyone has a black heart like her before leaving. After they left, Grandmother Mu tells Director Wang that instead of waiting for a donated heart, it is best to use a heart from a family member. Director Wang thought she meant to use her heart and she’s frightened. But Grandmother Mu tells Director Wang that she’s too old. That means Grandmother Mu is thinking of using Mu Xingyu. Director Wang is scared but Grandmother Mu thinks it’s fine to sacrificed Mu Xingyu to save Mu Zibin. Director Wang asked Grandmother Mu, isn’t Mu Xingyu pregnant but she tells Director Wang not to worry about it. Grandmother Mu left to meet up with Mu Xingyu and it turned out that Mu Xingyu is 3 weeks pregnant!
Gu Yifan has been discharge from the hospital and Mu Xingyu showed him ultrasound photos of the baby. Although Gu Yifan have been irritable, he’s very happy. The two have been acting lovey dovey which upset Father Gu. Father Gu and Mother Gu have been fighting but Father Gu stopped when Mu Xingyu asked him to. He also promise not to cheat anymore. A few nights later, he messaged Mu Xingyu for the two to meet. She agreed as she wants to make it clear to him that they can’t continue their affair. Mu Xingyu made an excuse that her grandmother is ill so she has to go see her. Father Gu’s excuse is that Mr. Li is finally willing to meet to discussion a business collaboration. Mother Gu is suspicious, especially when Father Gu won’t allow her to go with him. So she calls Mrs. Li and find out that their family is abroad. She and Gu Yiling follows Father Gu’s car. Luckily, Mother Gu had asked Gu Yiling to install a GPS on Father Gu’s car. The showdown between Mother Gu and Mu Xingyu happened. She beats up Mu Xingyu while Father Gu protects Mu Xingyu. Everyone now know that the child in Mu Xingyu’s stomach is Father Gu’s. As they are all fighting, reporters started coming into the room. He’s upset that Mother Gu invited them as it’s their private affairs but she said it wasn’t her. The scandals of Father Gu and Mu Xingyu were exposed to the public contributing to the downfall of Gu Corporation.
Mu Xingyu returns to the Mu family home and felt stomach pain from being kicked by Mother Gu. She fell unconscious and when she woke up, Grandmother Mu was there and told her that she had a miscarriage. Grandmother Mu told her that even if the child survive, it would suffer due to all the family drama with the Gu family and especially now the Gu family is down for. However, Grandmother Mu tells her that she’s found a home for Mu Xingyu and gives her piece a paper. On the paper, it said “heart donation agreement”. Grandmother Mu finally confessed that she has a half-brother who needs a heart transplant. Mu Xingyu refuses and tried to fight back but she’s been drugged by Grandmother Mu. Grandmother Mu used her hand to sign the heart donation agreement and the share transfer contract. News of the Gu Corporation filing bankruptcy and the “suicide” of Mu Xingyu came to light.
Ji Yang and MC are discussing the wedding at the villa before she has to leave for work but not before Lu Jingchen arrive with Bai Ruoya. Ji Yang introduce herself to Bai Ruoya while ignoring Lu Jingchen. As she’s about to leave, MC asked if she needs a ride but Ji Yang told her that she received a car as a gift from the department for her role in the drug trafficking case. After she left, Lu Jingchen snorted and say that the car should have been given to him instead as if it weren’t for him, Ji Yang shouldn’t even be alive. Bai Ruoya caught on this and ask him about it. He explained what happened. Bai Ruoya is on alert even after MC assured her that Ji Yang and Lu Jingchen are just friends. When Lu Jingchen heard MC’s assurance to Bai Ruoya, he tells MC that Bai Ruoya would not misunderstand because how could he like someone who looks like Ji Yang. Seeing that Ji Yang is a tomboy, Bai Ruoya felt a relief.
Bai Ruoya wanted to come visit MC for a reason. Her family wants to have some connection with ML so Mother Bai tells Bai Ruoya to develop a friendship with MC. Bai Ruoya tells MC that she heard that MC will have 4 bridesmaids and if all the spots were filled already. Not thinking of anything, MC admits that she doesn’t know who’s going to be the last bridesmaid. Bai Ruoya suggested herself which took both MC and Lu Jingchen by surprise. Bai Ruoya think that if she can appear as MC’s bridesmaid on her wedding day, it would show everyone that they have a close relationship. However, Lu Jingchen interrupted that he is not even going to be a groomsmen and he’s the bride’s cousin so it doesn’t make sense for Bai Ruoya to be a bridesmaid. Later, Lu Jingchen tells MC that Grandfather Lu wants to give MC a dowry. At the sound of this, Bai Ruoya stiffened and MC noticed. She tells him it’s not necessary but Lu Jingchen also insist on it. Bai Ruoya wants to say something but she doesn’t have the title. ML comes in and tells MC to just accept it as he’s fully aware that the dowry is actually from MC’s biological father. MC asked if the last position for bridesmaid has been filled, to which ML explained that the last bridesmaid will be the President’s daughter.
After Lu Jingchen and Bai Ruoya left, MC is upset about having Leng Jiuchen’s intentions as she knows that he will be obvious about his affections for Qiu Ci during the wedding party, which will alert the President’s daughter, Mei Ning. She’s afraid that Mei Ning will create trouble for Qiu Ci.
Qiu Ci is the only person who haven’t tried on her bridesmaid dress. She had just come back and planned to go over to MC’s villa to try it on. Leng Jiuchen is aware so he arrived early to ML’s villa. MC is angry but Leng Jiuchen has thick skin and move to ML’s study to do some work while his groomsmen outfit is being fixed. MC is upset and ML said for them not to get involve in Qiu Ci and Leng Jiuchen’s issues. Qiu Ci is aware that he will get engaged to Mei Ning so she will stay away from him. MC asked if Leng Jiuchen will leave Qiu Ci alone if she has a boyfriend but ML said he probably won’t. Qiu Ci arrived at the villa and just as she’s about to try on her dress in the guest room, Leng Jiuchen appears. He kabedons her and asks why she went abroad as he bit her neck. She tell him that she’s not his plaything. He tells her to be his woman and that he will give her everything she wants. She respond that he can’t afford what she wants. When he asks her what she wants, she said a legal husband who’s good to her but that’s something he can’t give her so for him to stop bothering her. He ask for her to give him 3 years then he will give her what she wants. She thinks that he wants her to be his lover while he marries Mei Ning so she tells him that she’s not interested in wasting 3 years of her youth for him. He tells her that marrying Mei Ning is a last resort. She tells him that it doesn’t matter to her who he marries.
Qiu Ci takes Ji Yang with her to change out of her bridesmaid dress, when they come out about the same time MC and ML came back, they are surprised to see Mei Ning there sitting next to Leng Jiuchen. She apologized for not letting them know but she had heard that Leng Jiuchen was at ML’s villa so she came over. Mei Ning is really affectionate towards Leng Jiuchen and she’s only 18 years old. Leng Jiuchen is kind towards her. When MC and ML invites everyone to lunch, Qiu Ci makes an excuse to leave but Leng Jiuchen tells them he has to leave so Mei Ning follows him. Later, Qiu Ci goes to the dance company and practice dancing. Leng Jiuchen visits her. Something happened between them.
ML’s aunt (Shi Mo’s mother) is visiting for the wedding. ML cautioned MC that she’s blunt and strict but not to worry. However, to her surprise, ML’s aunt, Shi Shuhui is really nice. Grandfather Shi asked ML to have Shi Mo come back in the afternoon since his mother is here. Grandfather Shi is now trying to matchmake Shi Mo and Yue Yiru. Shi Mo tells him that he’s not Yue Yiru’s type. Everyone has different thoughts: ML thinks pushing Grandfather Shi’s thoughts towards this direction will laid him off ML, MC is slightly uncomfortable as she knows Yue Yiru only has eyes for ML, Mother Shi is a little upset as she wants Yue Yiru as her daughter-in-law, and Aunt Shi is excited and wants Grandfather Shi to make it happen.
I’m a little concerned about Shi Mo. There’s a scene during the lunch with the Shi family and MC. MC went to the bathroom but saw some pretty flowers so she stopped and tried to take some pictures. She got distracted and then saw Shi Mo walking around the garden. She felt embarrassed to be caught. However, Shi Mo approached her and asked if she wanted him to take her photos with the flowers. She said it was not necessary before rushing towards the bathroom. Her diamond hair pin fell on the ground and Shi Mo picked it up. Later, when ML and his boys were hanging out, ML asked where Shi Mo is and Huo Sikai said he’s a workaholic. I’m hoping that he’s not the mysterious Mr. Wu Ming. His mother (ML’s aunt) Shi Shuhui lives abroad most of the time and runs a large and successful business so he will eventually inherit that.
The day before the wedding, MC and ML stayed at the Shi family home. Yue Xiang stopped by which greatly shocked Grandfather and Mother Shi. ML knows his intention, which is to see MC. Yue Xiang had promised Grandfather Lu not to attend MC’s wedding. So he can only come the day before and gave a red envelope to MC and ML.
The author didn’t really say what happened between Qiu Ci and Leng Jiuchen that night at the dance company. Whatever happened, Qiu Ci hid from Leng Jiuchen. He asked ML if he’s hiding Qiu Ci but he said he’s not. The night before the wedding, Leng Jiuchen follows ML and MC to the Lu family home as he’s sure that Qiu Ci is probably there for the wedding. MC calls Qiu Ci in advance so she hid in one of the courtyards. However, Leng Jiuchen still found her and forcibly kissed her. He warns her not to hide from him because he’ll find her no matter what. Later after Leng Jiuchen left, to appease MC, ML tells them that after the wedding, he’ll find a place for Qiu Ci that Leng Jiuchen will not be able to find.
Something big is going to happen at the wedding. Mr. Wu Ming and Jing Yang are discussing if Yue Yiru is really going to help them. Mr. Wu Ming said that Yue Yiru wants to marry ML so she will do anything to stop the wedding (this is kind of stupid as it’s just a formality, MC and ML are already legally married). Jing Yang said that if Yue Yiru knew that not only does Mr. Wu Ming want MC but he also wants ML dead, she would not help them.
On the wedding day, Lu Jingchen is shocked to see Ji Yang’s transformation. Ji Yang usually dress like a tomboy but she actually have a really nice body and very fair skin. When Lu Jingchen sees Ji Yang, he thinks that her body looks even better than Bai Ruoya. He almost can not believe that it’s Ji Yang until she opens her mouth and yell at him for staring at her.
During the ceremony, Jing Yang planned to assassinate ML. However, MC sees him from afar aiming his gun at ML so she blocked ML and got shot instead. ML reacted and the shot only hit MC’s shoulder. However, her body is injured and she had a miscarriage. ML shot and killed Jing Yang and his people were arrested.
Yue Yiru is waiting at home to hear what happened. She thinks that Mr. Wu Ming will take MC away during the wedding. However, she hears that there was an assassination attempt on ML but MC blocked the shot. Yue Yiru now suspect that Mr. Wu Ming must have wanted to kill ML all along. Yue Yiru and her mother are unsure if MC will survive but both are hoping that she’ll die. Mother Yue doesn’t know why she feels a deep hatred towards MC (probably because MC’s her husband’s illegitimate daughter). They eventually find out that MC survived however she lost the child. Yue Yiru is happy about that as that was the only reason Mother Shi and Grandfather Shi allowed ML to marry MC. Mother Yue tells Yue Yiru that Grandfather Shi wants to engage her to Shi Mo. Yue Yiru is upset and said she won’t marry anyone other than ML.
Yue Yiru calls Mr. Wu Ming and discussed what happened. She asked him why he didn’t take MC. He said that ML was protecting MC tightly so he didn’t have the opportunity. She also asked why he tried to have ML killed. At first he tried to pretend he had no idea but she called him out on it. He tells her not to worry, as soon as he takes MC away, she can be by ML’s side. Unfortunately for Yue Yiru, she’s overheard by her brother, Yue Yiming. He confronts her. She tries to deny it but he tells her he heard hoe she was an accomplice in ruining the wedding of MC and ML. He tell her that if ML knows that the tragedy today was caused by her, he would kill her. He also tells her that even if she succeeded in letting MC be kidnapped, it doesn’t mean that ML will turn to her. She disagreed and said that emotions can be cultivated. If there’s no MC, he would love her and that ML was originally hers. She’s so delusional. Yue Yiming tells her that he must tell their father but Yue Yiru begged him not to.
Yue Xiang has returned and is upset to hear that MC was injured. He feels like an incompetent father for not being able to protect his only child with Lu Shilan. He tells ML that he’ll also try to find out who caused this.
Ji Yang and Qiu Ci received a call from ML to visit MC to cheer her up. Lu Jingchen and Bai Ruoya also appear. Ji Yang had mentioned to Grandfather Lu that the wine that the 4 groomsmen drank at the Lu family home was drugged. Which is why Leng Jiuchen couldn’t do anything during the assassination attempt. MC asked Lu Jingchen if they’ve found who drugged the groomsmen. Ji Yang said that whoever drugged the wine must be someone who has a good relationship with the Lu family as the wine came straight from Grandfather Lu’s study and was his personal collection. When Ji Yang said this, Bai Ruoya’s hands shook and she dodged her eyes. However, no one noticed this. Well, it seems that Bai Ruoya has something to do with this.
Ji Yang said she’ll investigate this matter. Lu Jingchen snort and tell her that they can’t even figure it out, what makes her think she can. The two continue to argue and bicker and this alert Bai Ruoya as she thinks there’s something going on between the two. She noticed on MC’s wedding day, Lu Jingchen’s eyes would stray towards Ji Yang.
Bai Ruoya is jealous so after the left, she kissed Lu Jingchen but he pushed her away telling her that it’s not appropriate as they are at the hospital. She asked him if he likes her but he tells her to give him time. She agreed but tell him that he has to make it up to her with a kiss. Ji Yang happened to see this.
The four men that were captured during the assassination attempt were poisoned. ML now suspect that Mr. Wu Ming is someone beside him. The poison used is something that is foreign, not made in their country. Yan Ze also tells ML that the cook died the same way. ML tells him to suppress the news about the deaths and release that there was one survivor who Huo Sikai is trying to save. He intend to draw Mr. Wu Ming out.
Some time later, ML is chatting with his boys: Huo Sikai, Leng Jiuchen, Shi Ran, and Shi Mo. Huo Sikai feels a little guilty about hiding information as they were all very close and never kept secrets from each other. Leng Jiuchen asked why Mr. Wu Ming hate ML so much. Shi Ran wonder if it’s just because Mr. Wu Ming has a crush on MC and was jealous. ML said that’s probably only a small part of it but he must hate ML for other reasons. Leng Jiuchen agree as it would be too crazy for the reason to be because Mr. Wu Ming has a crush on MC. The topic turned to Leng Jiuchen’s engagement to Mei Ning which will be announce soon. He admits that it will be announce tomorrow and they will be engaged in two weeks.
Meanwhile, upstairs, MC is chatting with her girls: Ji Yang and Qiu Ci. Qiu Ci tells them that she will be leaving tomorrow. As the two left, Leng Jiuchen follow them out. He tells Ji Yang to get out of the car. Ji Yang resist and Qiu Ci tells Leng Jiuchen she doesn’t want to talk to him but he tells her that he has something to say. If she refuse, he’ll say it right there. So Qiu Ci tells Ji Yang to leave first. Once Ji Yang leaves, Leng Jiuchen automatically hug Qiu Ci tightly. He tells her to follow him to his villa but she refused. So he said they will stay at ML and MC’s place. She’s upset and refused but he pulled her into his RV and they left. Leng Jiuchen forcibly kissed her. His body is reacting to her and he wants her. She asked him if he would let her go if she gives him her body. He tells her he wants a lifetime, not one night. He tells her that he knows that she likes him back and he promised that he won’t touch any other woman but him, not even Mei Ning. She tells him that she never asked this of him. He asked her what she wants and she tells him that she wants him to let her go. He gets mad and tells her that he’ll never let her go.
Leng Jiuchen and Qiu Ci slept together and in the morning he still wants more. After their morning delight, Leng Jiuchen received a call from the President asking where he is as today they are announcing his engagement with Mei Ning. He tells him he’s been delayed. He apologized to Qiu Ci and asked her to wait for him to come back. He feels bad forcing her to sleep with him but it was the only way she can completely be his. Qiu Ci doesn’t want to be his mistress so after he leaves, she runs off too. She goes to MC and ML’s place to ask ML to hide her. On the way there, she sees the news of the engagement between Leng Jiuchen and Mei Ning. ML had his men send her abroad somewhere Leng Jiuchen won’t be able to find.
After the engagement, Leng Jiuchen wants to leave but the President and Mrs. President insist he stays for lunch. However, quickly after he leaves. Mrs. President mentioned that it seems that Leng Jiuchen does not want to marry Mei Ning. The President said that of course he’s unwilling but they forced the marriage on him and he has no choice but eventually he’ll see the goodness in Mei Ning and fall in love with her.
Leng Jiuchen finds out that Qiu Ci has disappear and know that ML and MC was involved. He comes over and gets in a physical fight with ML. He tells them that Qiu Ci is already his woman, they’ve slept together. ML tells him that he can’t do anything for Qiu Ci and for him to leave her alone so she won’t get hurt in the future. ML also tells him that Qiu Ci is not the person Leng Jiuchen think she is. Leng Jiuchen is angry and leaves. MC asked ML what she means. He tells her that Leng Jiuchen has a childhood sweetheart that was the granddaughter of his grandfather’s dead comrade. She grew up in the Leng household. Her name was also Qiu Ci but they have different surnames. However, Qiu Ci look 80% similar to the other Qiu Ci who had died 10 years ago. Leng Jiuchen had investigated deeply so he knows there is no relationship between the two Qiu Cis. And although at first he was interested in her due to the other Qiu Ci, now his feelings for Qiu Ci is real and not just because of the other Qiu Ci. However, he caution MC not to mention this to Qiu Ci as it would hurt her feelings.
